“Digital and organizational transformation: the new status quo” – the topic presented by Lubo Minchev, owner and chairman of the board of directors of Telelink Bulgaria, during the Economist World in 2018 Gala Dinner, held on 19th January in Sofia.
Mr. Minchev underlined the role of modern technologies for the development of the digital economy, in front of the politicians, ambassadors and representatives from the local and international business, gathered in Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture.
The event was opened by Minister Liliana Pavlova, leading the discussion about the future of the world in Bulgarian. “We are proud of our Cyrillic alphabet and during the presidency we will speak in Bulgarian”, said the minister for the Bulgarian presidency of the EU Council 2018.
Minister Pavlova placed young people first among the priorities for the future. She also identified tackling the migrant crisis and the security of European citizens as a major challenge for 2018.
Maria Gabriel, Commissioner for the Digital Economy and Society, stated the ambitions of the EU to return to the world stage of high performance computing technology and recalled the decision to invest EUR 1 billion, creating a leading European HPC and big data ecosystem, underpinned by a world-class HPC, data and network infrastructure. Such an infrastructure would help the EU to become one of the world’s top supercomputing powers by 2022/2023 thanks to exascale supercomputers based on European technology.
